write the - ing form of the verb in brackets. Use Remember to help you.
Remember : Verbs ending in a vowel or - y don't change, e.g. play → playing , try → trying. You simply add - ing.
For verbs that end in - e, take off the - e before - ing, e.g. dance → dancing, write → writing.
Double the final consonant when a one - syllable verb ends in consonat + vowel + consonat, e.g. stop → stopping, swim → swimming.
