In Britain there is a holiday now which people call Mother's Day. In the old days many girls from working-class family in towns and cities and from farmers' families in the country worked in rich houses. Once a year, it was usually on Sunday in March, they could visit their mothers. They went home and brought presents for their mothers and for members of their families.
